Extremely Rare 1937 Cord 812 Sportsman Convertible Coupe!! There can be no doubt that the cars of the Auburn Automobile Company were some of the most streamlined and innovative designs that ever graced the American roadways. Never settling for second, Errett Loban Cord was a man who demanded the very best. His idea of a car involved long sweeping body lines, coupled with large and powerful eight-cylinder engines that combined to form the very pinnacle of excellence in motoring. Offered here is a wonderful example of Cord’s legacy, a 1937 Cord 812 Convertible Coupe, now commonly called the ‘Sportsman’. This car is one of the rare Cords manufactured purely for export and spent its entire life in South America. In 2006, this 812 was acquired by well-known Auburn-Cord aficionado Eduardo Ponce de Leone in un-restored, but remarkable original condition. Ponce de Leone commenced a full restoration in 2008, and when completed in 2011, this fine Cord was brought to life once again. Finished in a classy hue of Cigarette Cream, set off by red wheels adorned by chrome hub caps, this ‘Sportsman’ is a car that stands out among all classic cars and is a worthy addition to any garage!
